Morgan attended Oklahoma State University (OSU), where he graduated with a B.S. degree in Animal Science in 1985. Following his baccalaureate education, Morgan obtained a M.S. degree in Meat Science at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln (1988) and completed a Ph.D. (1991) at Texas A&M. Dr. Morgan returned home where he joined the Department of Animal Science at in a teaching and research position. Morgan is known nationally and internationally for his research and expertise in meat tenderness and color, having conducted research projects in 27 different countries. During his professional career, Dr. Morgan’s research program has attracted in excess of $5.5 million and has lead to more than 90 referred journal articles. Most recently, Brad has taken a different professional in accepting a Sr. Food Safety and Production Enhancement position with Pfizer Animal Health. Dr. David Acheson is a Partner at Leavitt Partners and oversees the company’s Food and Import Safety Practice. Prior to joining Leavitt Partners, Dr. Acheson served as the Chief Medical Officer at the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service and then in 2002 joined the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as the Chief Medical Officer at the FDA Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN). Dr. Acheson graduated from the University of London Medical School and practiced internal medicine and infectious diseases in the United Kingdom until he became an Associate Professor at Tufts University in Boston, studying the molecular pathogenesis of foodborne pathogens.
Dr. Jim Sargent
Director of Technical Support and Regulatory Compliance Copesan
   
Dr. Sargent is the Director of Technical Support and Regulatory Compliance for Copesan, Menomonee Falls, WI. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, Ph.D. and M.S., Entomology, and has been with Copesan since 1996. Prior to Copesan, Jim was employed by Great Lakes Chemical Corporation as an Entomologist. He started his career as an Extension Entomologist at Ohio State University, specializing in urban and post-harvest pests including stored product pest research and food safety. Jim also serves on the Copesan Technical Committee, a group of leading Copesan technical professionals. He is the current President of Pi Chi Omega, a pest control honorary fraternity.
